Alliances between BIME PRO & British Council and BIME PRO & South Summit

The call to apply for #WEAREEQUALS MUSIC ACADEMYin Bilbao will be open between 3rd September and 3rd October 2019


With the aim of strengthen the ties around innovation, entrepreneurship in music and the creative industries, BIME PRO adds new synergies for 7th edition. On one hand, allies with one of the biggest events for entrepreneurs in Southern Europe like South Summit in order to easy new business opportunities. On the other hand collaborates with British Council in the training of emergent electronic music artists.



In addition to communication exchanges of both BIME PRO and South Summit activities, BIME PRO will act as a cohesive space for startups offering higher visibility to its winning project in South Summit Colombia, Madrid y México; BIME PRO will take part actively by joining the South Summit evaluation committee for creative industries vertical or acting as curator in one of Orange Economy panels in South Summit Bogotá, showing its global-level support to entrepreneurship and innovation.

Being aware of each other strengths, BIME PRO y South Summit consolidate this agreement as a tool for opening new ways for innovation and business 360º in entrepreneurship and networking



BIME PRO also closes a collaboration agreement with the British Council and its training programme #WeAreEquals Music Academy, a formation block for electronic music artists and producers to grow professionally, which will have presence during the celebration of BIME PRO.

Through the #WeAreEquals Music Academy, which focuses on the training of future electronic music creators and producers, its goal is to provide emerging talents in the music industry with mentoring and professional training. During several days, #WeAreEquals will help participants to develop professionally through different formats, with mentors as Jamz Supernova, Afrodeutsche & Carly Wilford and associated artists such as IAMDDB, Chvrches, Maribou State, Or:la, Mount Kimbie or Solomun, through festivals that have joined the initiative.

The professional programme will take place in Madrid between the 17th – 20th of June (in collaboration with Paraíso Festival and MADO Orgullo Madrid), in Bilbao between the 28thof October till November 1st within the framework of BIME PRO and in Barcelona at the beginning of 2020.

In Bilbao, the training sessions will take place during BIME PRO, the most important professional meeting of the Spanish music industry, and will feature the participation of British artists present on BIME LIVE(1-2 November), such as Michael Kiwanuka and others yet to be confirmed. The concerts of the  #WeAreEquals Music Academy students in Bilbao will take place within BIME CITY, various free showcases for music professionals and general public. The call to register for the Music Academy of Bilbao will remain open between the 3rd of September to October 3rd of 2019.
