1979 – 1988: Founded and worked at a youth centre (Debarak) in Zutphen, The Netherlands (Booking the bands, the paperwork, the bar, the crew, dj-ing, cleaning the toilets, cooking and the finances) 1984 – 1986: Social and cultural worker in a youth club in Deventer, working with problem youngsters.
1981 – 2001 Paperclip Agency in Nijmegen, Co-owner and founder, senior agent, talentscout, international director. Large part of my work was discovering and building up new talent, coordinate European and international tours, act as a Dutch promoter for international and Dutch acts, set up and control tour production, budgets and accounts. Visiting festivals and conferences (NMS/BID/SXSW/NETWORK/ILMC/POPKOMM) Visit, deal and communicate with international record companies, managements, agents, promoters, venues, artists, backline companies, and production companies, merchandise companies and festivals. As an European agent we proudly worked for and with, to name a few; The Feelies, Screaming Trees, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Tad, Nirvana, Hole, Lemonheads, Union Carbide Productions, Soul Asylum, Buffalo Tom, The Doughboys, Femi Anikulapo Kuti, Spain, (Europe and Australia) Andre Williams, Link Wray, (Europe and USA) L7, Babes In Toyland, Yo La Tengo, Motorpsycho, Afghan Whigs, The Flaming Lips, The Gunclub, Alex Chilton, The Saints, The Fuzztones, The Hellacopters, Gluecifer, The Nomads, The Turpentines, Suicide, The Wipers, Dead Moon and many, many more.
In 2001 I started a new company called Networking Music, a one stop shop for the international (live) music industry. Clients: MusicXport.nl / Dutch Impact Parties / Buma Cultuur / Dutch Music Export (DME) for the Dutch Export Office organizations (2002 – currrent).
